Kosta Boda Christmas Plate

Christmas at another Lifeline second-hand shop... - and I spotted the Christmas plate in the top left corner. The Kosta Boda plate is hand painted by the late Swedish artist Ulrica Hydman Vallien! 

Super happy when I find treasures from my home country of Sweden here in kangaroo country, especially at the second-hand shops. When I spot an item from Kosta Boda or Orrefors, I want to quickly pay for my item and leave the shop before anyone notice I bought a treasure for 'next to nothing'... 

I guess it is the thrill of the hunt which makes it extra fun... I love glassware and crystals from my home country ♥

Jul på en annan Lifeline-butik... och jag fick syn på jultallriken från Kosta Boda med den handmålade granen. Jag visste på en gång att den var målad av Ulrica Hydman Vallien! 

Jag blir alltid så himla glad när jag hittar Kosta Boda och Orrefors-skatter på second-handbutikerna här i kängurulandet. Jag vill alltid snabbt betala och försvinna ut ur butiken innan nån upptäcker att jag betalat näst till ingenting för svenska glas-och kristallföremål... 

Det är spännande att alltid vara på jakt efter dessa fina föremål då jag älskar glas och kristall från mitt hemland ♥

Is it just me, or has this year gone really fast?

Two months... 8 weeks... 

Have you got all your Christmas presents organised?

Today hubby and I went to several second-hand shops again, 

8 to be exact. We spent the whole day together shopping for treasures...

Idag var maken och jag ut på en loppistur igen. 

Vi besökte flertal second-handbutiker. Det blev 8 idag.

Vi spenderade hela dagen tillsammans och hittade en hel del skatter... 

Three months until Christmas Day

Oh, my... I really have to start thinking about Christmas. Three months until Christmas Day. I have a few Christmas presents organised, but not really everything done just yet. I like to be done in good time before the holidays so I don't have to get out to the shops with the rest of the population... I love Christmas at the shops, I just dislike the craziness it brings - the stress and the amount of people out and about at the same time...

Å, himmel... Jag måste snart börja tänka på julen. Tre månader tills juldagen. Jag har några julklappar inslagna och klara, men långt från alla. Jag gillar att ha allt klart i tid innan julledigheten, så jag slipper julhandla när julrushen är igång... Jag älskar när det är juligt på alla shoppingcenter, men jag ogillar verkligen stressen och julpaniken  med tusentals människor, Det kan jag helst vara utan!

I look around and feel like I'm still on my little Christmas cloud,

or maybe I should say in my Christmas bauble lol

The weather has been extremely hot,

and I have been cooling down in front of the Air Con.

I'm as far away from Sweden's snowy weather as you can get.

Jag njuter fortfarande av julen härhemma.

Ser mig omkring och det känns som om jag fortfarande 

svävar runt på mitt lilla julmoln, eller inuti en julkula kanske haha

Vädret har varit oerhört varmt,

och jag har kylt ner mig framför luftkonditioneringen.

Jag är så långt ifrån Sveriges vinter man kan komma.

20 days after Christmas, the 13th of January, is the day when us Swedes remove our Christmas decorations... I usually keep it up a bit longer.  I spent so much time decorating the house, so I want to enjoy all the decor for a long time... ♥

Belated Christmas present

Received a belated Christmas present in the mail this afternoon... Swedish Desserts - 80 traditional recipes by Cecilia Vikbladh. I think my book is the English version of the Swedish 'Sju sorters julkakor'. Either way, lots of Swedish Christmas goodies...

Still Christmas...

Only two weeks left of the Christmas holidays.

The new school year starts Monday the 22nd...

I'm still enjoying my Christmas house and while I see and hear about other bloggers and Instagram friends taking their Christmas decor down, I'm still going to keep mine up for a while longer. I love the red, I love the warmth - even if it's 33°c/93°F outdoors lol, I love the way the Christmas decor make me feel in the heart!

Här får julen hänga med ett tag till... Två veckor kvar på jullovet - måndagen den 22a januari drar det nya skolåret igång. Jag njuter av det röda, värmen och känslan i hjärtat när jag ser allt fint omkring mig. Det är dock varmt ute också... 33°c

Holiday mode

I kind of got lost somewhere before the New Year... I couldn't find any inspiration to blog. I'm definitely in a holiday mood - and mode!

Still Christmas in our bedroom.

Bought a deep red sheet set for Christmas.

They are so lovely to sleep on...

with beautiful red embroidery.

I draped our snowflake sheets over the bed 

for a festive feel.

That space between Christmas and New Years when you don't know what day it is, who you are and what you're supposed to be doing. Yeah, I'm there!

Boxing Day and yesterday

After a very lazy Boxing Day, I thought I'd have another relaxing day yesterday... but then I started doing laundry, and some more laundry... and in between loads I decided to start tidying up our pantry... Somehow, today didn't turn out as relaxing as I had planned it...

Efter att ha haft en väldigt avslappnad Annandag, tänkte jag att gårdagen skulle fortsätta i samma stil, men så började jag tvätta kläder, sedan fortsatte jag med ännu en maskin... och en till, och mellan tvättarna började jag städa i skafferiet, När man tänker efter så blev det inte så lugnt och skönt som jag hade planerat...

Unbelievable... I totally forgot to post about our Christmas Eve lunch/dinner... I think I was too busy and too focused on posting photos on Instagram, that I forgot to write a blog post... Ah, well. Better late than never, right?!

Christmas Eve brekky

Well, it was almost lunch time when we sat down... So maybe I should call it Christmas Eve brunch instead! We had traditional Swedish rice porridge with cinnamon sugar and milk. This is what we give to the Swedish Tomten (our Santa) instead of milk and cookies... ☺

Det var nästan lunchdags när vi satte oss ner och åt vår julgröt, så jag borde egentligen kalla det julfrunch! Vi åt som vanligt risgrynsgröt med kanel, socker och mjölk - precis likadan som vi brukar ge till tomten ☺
